CEDIA Releases Key Findings of Size & Scope Survey and They are Surprising

October 23, 2015 by Ted 5 Comments

Market Survey coverAs is their normal practice at the annual Expo, CEDIA released key results from their annual Size and Scope of the Residential Electronic Systems Market survey which is conducted in conjunction with Parks Associates. However, what is not normal is that this year we heard these results from Dave Pedigo, CEDIA’s all-around tech guy – rather than from Erica Shonkwiler, CEDIA’s Market Research Manager who has apparently left the organization. But that switcheroo was not the only surprise, as some of the results were almost shocking.

See the astounding results from this year’s survey… [Read more…] about CEDIA Releases Key Findings of Size & Scope Survey and They are Surprising

Millson Hits the Ground Running with CinemaFrame at CEDIA Expo 2015

October 22, 2015 by Ted 1 Comment

Photo of integratorsRichard Millson, owner of Millson Technology and founder of the new Millson Custom Solutions, didn’t see as much of the 2015 CEDIA Expo as he had hoped. The reason? He was behind closed doors with rotating groups of integrators in a continual series of mostly standing-room-only presentations of his latest creation…CinemaFrame™. And judging from the level of interest the company received from integrators – the company has hit the ground running in this, the official launch of an all-new product concept.

See more on this unique new product that is a powerful solution for clients… [Read more…] about Millson Hits the Ground Running with CinemaFrame at CEDIA Expo 2015

Tons of Turmoil at Thiel; Is There Yet Another New CEO?

October 8, 2015 by Ted Leave a Comment

New Thiel logo black backgroundTipped off by a source, we have learned that the turmoil at Thiel Audio continues, as yet another wave of executives have arrived and departed – leaving the company ostensibly leaderless and seemingly adrift in the market. The revolving executive door at Thiel seems to be an annual event as we await news on yet another team to jump in the saddle…or into the fire, depending on your perspective.

See more on what we’ve learned… [Read more…] about Tons of Turmoil at Thiel; Is There Yet Another New CEO?

Apple’s Big Event is Mostly Meh, With Some Evolutionary Goodies

September 9, 2015 by Ted 2 Comments

Apple iPhone 6sApple, Inc. held their regularly scheduled September event today to announce new products – this time to introduce: a minor new Watch update, a more significant new bigger iPad they call the iPad Pro, a new Apple TV with a revamped user interface, and finally the new interim smartphone update – the iPhone 6s & 6s Plus. Using lots of exciting & cool music, dramatic video segments, and massive colorful images on a huge screen – presenters worked hard to milk applause from the Apple friendly crowd. But for us, most of these “innovations” were “meh” – more evolutionary than revolutionary.

See our brief on the Apple update… [Read more…] about Apple’s Big Event is Mostly Meh, With Some Evolutionary Goodies

New Brand Hits Key Milestone – Launches ‘Generation 2’ Products

Bluesound logoThis week in New York City, executives from Lenbrook America and Bluesound conducted a media presentation informing them of a major update to the Bluesound brand, which is distributed in the U.S. by Lenbrook America along with NAD and PSB.  It is the first major line update since the brand was first launched in 2013. With this update, called “Generation 2,” the Bluesound brand appears to have gained solid momentum – or at least enough traction for the company to justify a significant investment in further product development.

See more of what we learned, including both product and business updates… [Read more…] about Bluesound: Talkin’ ‘Bout Our Generation

Origin Acoustics, Facing Its 1st Birthday, is Big For Its Age

July 2, 2015 by Ted Leave a Comment

Photo of a man on a childs bike“It’s been tremendous,” declared Origin CEO Jeremy Burkhardt with his typical over-the-top enthusiasm, when asked how his nearly one-year old company is doing since its launch at the 2014 CEDIA Expo. “I’ve been on the road for 3-weeks a month for the last 12-months.” And apparently, from what Burkhardt tells us, loving every single minute of it.

June 25, 2015 by Ted Leave a Comment

We awaited this year’s edition with great anticipation as it occurs in the wake of a major change in the show’s backers – and is the follow-up to the surprisingly meaningful show last year.
