Josh.ai Launches New Hardware Solution – Josh Micro

Photo of Josh MicroJosh.ai, the high-end voice control solution that created quite a buzz at last year’s CEDIA show, announced today that it is launching its first hardware product, Josh Micro. Josh Micro includes a home control processor, far-field microphone array, and a superior user interface in a small package that “fits in the palm of your hand.” It also disconnects Josh.ai from the need to talk into your smartphone…or to a nearby Amazon Echo.

Samsung Display Plans to Build the World’s Largest OLED Factory

Samsung2CES2-8-12In news out of Korea, we learn that Samsung Display is planning to build the world’s largest OLED manufacturing facility in a bid to hold off Chinese competition in the increasingly popular technology. Samsung’s board of directors are expected to meet this month to approve the plans and the investment.

Crestron and Sonos Deepen Their Relationship

That partnership, which Strata-gee was the first to break the story on ahead of the 2016 CEDIA show, is now growing even stronger as Crestron is making the full line of Sonos products available directly to Crestron Technology Professionals through their normal purchasing system. Builder Offers World’s First Wi-Fi Certified Smart Home w/Alexa

The company says this new program is part of its Everything’s Included approach to home building.

CES 2018 to Feature Smart City Technology

Sony CEO Predicts 20-Yr High Op. Profit; Says Co. Needs More Innovation

Photo of display of Sony TVsSony CEO Kazuo Hirai is feeling pretty good these days. After an incredibly tough turnaround period where many questioned his plan, Hirai said this week that the company expects to book an operating profit of ¥500 billion ($4.5 billion) in the fiscal year ending March 2018, its highest operating profit in 20-years according to a report by the Nikkei. But the CEO admits that, as good as this news is, the company is still short of a full turnaround.
