On the eve of the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show we received the announcement of the launch of a new kind of connectivity supplier called Future Ready Solutions (FRS). Launched by Bodley & Associates founder Eric Bodley, we have learned that FRS is a distinctly different kind of company – sort of a hybrid really – seeking to set the standard as your preferred provider of mission-critical connectivity solutions.
GoldenEar Technology continues their methodical line expansion, further building on founder Sandy Gross’ latest speaker design philosophies. For CES 2015, GoldenEar announces their new Triton Five Tower speakers and what looks to be a gut-rumbling, lease-breaking subwoofer with four 12-inch drivers and 1,600 watts of power.
Anuva Automation’s TiO division held a meeting at CES 2015 Monday evening with its national sales force to deliver an important message – they have arrived…and they can prove it. TiO (which is short for Turn It On) has had a long and, at times, troubled history – which has caused some in the industry to question its viability. And it was this question mark that the company sought to permanently erase from the doubters’ minds.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the undisputed global leader in TVs and other key products, launched its CES 2015 press conference in a pattern familiar to those of us who have attended them over the years. But there was one moment in this carefully scripted presentation this year that caught our attention…a moment unlike any other we’ve experienced before at a Samsung presentation. It was a moment when the company actually sounded a touch…defensive.
Like a carefully scripted political debate, Day 0 of CES (Day 1 for most of the press) opened with great fanfare…but offered no real surprises. Day 0 – officially known as Press Day – is an endless series of press conferences in which major manufacturers make their significant announcements and present their plans for 2015. And this year these press conferences, for the most part, followed their expected path – not even a Michael Bay meltdown emerged to spice it up a bit like last year!

You get Grimani Systems – an all-new company comprised of well-known industry personality Anthony Grimani, engineer Manny LaCarrubba, and business entrepreneur David Steel.
And to create the ultimate system there was only one place to start – with a clean sheet of paper (actually probably a large, clean whiteboard.) From there, the CinemaOne Audio Ensemble was born.
Sharp Corporation has announced in Japan that it intends to be the first company in the world to bring 8K LCD TVs to market – and says it will begin making them in 2015. Sharp made the comments at CEATEC, a major trade show for the IT and CE industries taking place right now in Japan.

On Controls launched their new On Controls Connect at last month’s CEDIA Expo and we received an impressive demo of this little remote access device. On Controls – a cloud-based home automation system – makes it easy for installers to add remote connectivity to their On Controls-based system – a capability that is sure to delight clients.
In the days leading up to last month’s CEDIA Expo, we were persistently cajoled by certain OmniMount folks to visit the display mount manufacturer’s booth…and we’re glad we did. While integrators have an almost dizzying array of mount brands to choose from – only a handful are truly prime designers and manufacturers of high quality mounting solutions.
