As is their normal practice at the annual Expo, CEDIA released key results from their annual Size and Scope of the Residential Electronic Systems Market survey which is conducted in conjunction with Parks Associates. However, what is not normal is that this year we heard these results from Dave Pedigo, CEDIA’s all-around tech guy – rather than from Erica Shonkwiler, CEDIA’s Market Research Manager who has apparently left the organization. But that switcheroo was not the only surprise, as some of the results were almost shocking.

It was conducted in much the same way, with essentially the same panel (minus any supporting hardware manufacturers) and, with a couple of exceptions, covered pretty much the same ground.
So where is Hi-Res Audio at? Read on… [Read more…] about Hi-Res Audio: On the Fast-Track or Stuck in the Mud?
LG Relents, Will Reduce Height of New HQ to Preserve Historic Palisades
It took the involvement of one of the oldest and most powerful families in the United States, but when Laurance Rockefeller reached out to LG Group Chairman Bon-Moo Koo, talks ensued that resulted in the global electronics powerhouse agreeing to alter construction plans for their new headquarters building in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, resolving a long-running dispute. The issue, not well-known in other parts of the country, has been the center of a firestorm here in the New York metropolitan market, with its almost pulp fiction-like storyline of greedy developers cutting backroom deals to despoil a pristine environment in a raw display of corporate hubris. But a story with a happy ending.
