Audio Advice, a leading retailer and e-commerce provider of high-performance home theater and smart home systems, announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Gregg Chopper as its new Chief Operating Officer. With extensive experience in high-end audio as well as North American and International operations and logistics, the company says that Chopper is the perfect addition to its management team as the company continues its rapid expansion.
RTI, a leading control and home automation manufacturer, announced on Thursday that it has expanded its sales team. The company announced the appointment of Brittany Delgado as regional sales manager.
Last week, Sonos quietly let the Securities and Exchange Commission know that Panos Panay resigned from the Sonos board of directors, effective September 27, 2023. They made no public announcement that I am aware of, even though this news could have a major impact on the company’s direction. Why? Simply because Panos Panay is one of the most respected technology product gurus in the industry – so much so that Sonos trumpeted his arrival loudly when they convinced him to join their board in 2020.
Separately, and within just days of the exit of Panay, the company announced three “new” (I’ll explain the quotes around the word new below) additions to its executive team, including a new, promoted from within, Chief Product Officer…
Friends of Ron Meyerowitz have arranged for a gathering to celebrate his life on September 27, 2023, in New York City. The gathering is open for any friend of Ron’s (invitation required) who would like to join with others to share some food and drink, and most importantly, share stories about Ron, an influential manufacturer sales representative in the New York Metro market – and a very good friend to many in the industry.
Sad news to report today as highly respected New York Metro manufacturer sales representative Ron Meyerowitz passed away earlier this week. Ronald “Ronnie” Meyerowitz was the founder of Audio Associates in the 1970s, one of the most successful audio/video manufacturer sales representative companies in the NY Metro area for decades.
This evening I received a press release from Valerio Cora, the new owner and Chief Executive Officer of Audio Research that seeks to address some concerns the company is apparently hearing from customers of the high-end, high-performance electronics brand. Interestingly, Cora says that the company will use the dba (doing business as) designation of Audio Research Corporation, while its legal new corporate name registered in Delaware is AR Tube Audio Corporation.
Well-known and respected industry executive Peter Wellikoff has been appointed to the newly created position of Managing Director at Atlantic Technology. Wellikoff’s appointment was effective as of July 1st.
Redwood Marketing, Inc. continues an ambitious growth strategy by acquiring another Northern California manufacturers sales representative group, the Jan Tulloch Company. Both groups are based in Northern California, and the deal is expected to close by July 1, 2023.
Nationwide Marketing Group announced on Wednesday the launch of a new buying group targeted at the commercial integration channel called Ellipsys. Part of its strategy to build its overall membership organization to 1,000 members, Ellipsys actually made its debut, sort of a soft launch, last week at InfoComm in Orlando.
A couple of interesting announcements this week from Premium Audio Company (PAC), the Voxx Int’l subsidiary that markets the company’s premier audio brands such as Klipsch, Onkyo, Integra, Jamo, Pioneer, Elite, and more. First up, Rob Standley gets a big promotion to President of Technology and Product, a big step up. Second, and I would say counter-intuitively, the company says it’s lowering prices on many of its “most popular and best-selling audio solutions.”
