Small Headphone Specialist Koss Corp. Attempts to Slay Giants Apple, Bose & Others in Court

Milwaukee, WI based Koss Corporation (NASDAQ:KOSS) last month launched a significant litigation effort against several major industry brands in an effort to assert and protect its IP portfolio rights. On July 22, 2020, Koss filed lawsuits against each of Apple, Inc., Bose Corporation, PEAG LLC dba JLAB Audio, Plantronics, Inc., and Skullcandy, Inc. Each of these auspicious brands, Koss says, are infringing on their patents covering wireless headphones and speakers.

Skullcandy Stock Skyrockets on Hint of Buyout

skullcandy logoSkullcandy, the lifestyle headphone company in which design is as important as performance (some would say more important), saw its stock skyrocket some 16% on Wednesday as word leaked out that the company’s founder was exploring the possibility of taking the company private in a buyout. This idea was revealed in a filing with securities regulators by Skullcandy founder Richard Alden.

Very Late to the Headphone Party – Is Onkyo Better Late than Never?

Photo of Onkyo's New HF-300 HeadphonesOnkyo has finally jumped on the headphone bandwagon, although they are about the last major audio component brand to do so. The company will formally launch its new headphone line at the International CES opening Tuesday in Las Vegas, NV.

As we had reported previously, Onkyo had hinted it would be moving in this direction at last year’s CES.
