Strata-gee Visits TiO HQ & Factory

June 18, 2015 by Ted Leave a Comment

Photo of Anuva facilityHow dogged are we in pursuing stories for Strata-gee.com readers? Dogged enough to travel to Florida…in June! Yes, we traveled earlier this month to Melbourne, FL to visit Anuva Automation, parent company of home automation upstart Turn It On (TiO). There has apparently been a lot going on at TiO lately with a flurry of recent press releases and we wanted to see for ourselves, just exactly what the company has been up to in the still early stages of its launch.

See what we found in Florida, including photos of their facility… [Read more…] about Strata-gee Visits TiO HQ & Factory

Showing the Power of Software – Latest TiO Update Expands Capabilities

April 16, 2015 by Ted 1 Comment

TiO logoWe have been reporting on TiO and its various predecessor permutations (Colorado vNet, 3vNet, ACTP) for some time now. TiO, which stands for Turn it On, is an interesting hybrid of software and hardware enabling an incredibly flexible home automation system that strikes a balance between easy operation, system capabilities, user experience (UX) and powerful performance.

TiO is app driven and also has a proprietary system software solution . And now the company shows us the power of a strong system software foundation with an “update” that dramatically expands the systems capabilities.

See more on how this upgrade expands the TiO capabilities… [Read more…] about Showing the Power of Software – Latest TiO Update Expands Capabilities

At CES, TiO Not Only Turns it On – But They Turn it Up As Well

January 7, 2015 by Ted Leave a Comment

TiO’s new home in Melbourne, FL

Anuva Automation’s TiO division held a meeting at CES 2015 Monday evening with its national sales force to deliver an important message – they have arrived…and they can prove it. TiO (which is short for Turn It On) has had a long and, at times, troubled history – which has caused some in the industry to question its viability. And it was this question mark that the company sought to permanently erase from the doubters’ minds.

See how TiO made their case at CES with its national sales team… [Read more…] about At CES, TiO Not Only Turns it On – But They Turn it Up As Well

After Disappearing Completely, TiO Stages an Improbable Comeback

July 24, 2014 by Ted 2 Comments

Photo from TiO websiteIn what was a complete surprise to many last week, several industry reps and dealers received a letter from Audio Control Technology Partners (ACTP) CEO Mike Anderson that announced the return of Turn it On (TiO) to the market. TiO, as you might recall, lost funding back in May and ultimately disappeared from view…all before they shipped their first product.

A Recent Report Says TiO Has ‘Fallen on Some Hard Times’ But Their CEO Disputes It; What’s Going On?

May 6, 2014 by Ted 8 Comments

Photo from TiO website
This image, from TiO’s website, raises the question: Just what are we “turning on”?

This past Saturday, CEPro published a strongly worded report based on anonymous email sources saying Automated Control Technology Partners, Inc., the parent company of Turn it On (TiO), has “fallen on some hard times” and its “office doors were locked” and “employees haven’t been paid for months.” The article also said that the company is “filing for Chapter 11” [bankruptcy] and “that a huge number of employees have been laid off.” CEO Mike Anderson was quoted as disputing many of the points in the article.

We spoke with Anderson who told us – emphatically – that CEPro got it wrong. So what is really going on at TiO?… [Read more…] about A Recent Report Says TiO Has ‘Fallen on Some Hard Times’ But Their CEO Disputes It; What’s Going On?

TiO – Turn it On – It Just Might Turn YOU On

September 26, 2013 by Ted Leave a Comment

TiO logoPerhaps it is a touch poetic that TiO, the new division launched by Automated Control Technology Partners, and the company that emerged from the ruins of Colorado vNet (then 3vNet) – should launch their exciting new home automation system the year that CEDIA returns to Colorado. We’ve seen the system, and even though we have yet to have the opportunity to operate it (it was a non-powered display) we saw enough to strongly advise that you get to know it…and quickly.

In fact, if you are at CEDIA, we would recommend you set your sights on the Tio booth #3628… [Read more…] about TiO – Turn it On – It Just Might Turn YOU On
