Gentex, Owner of Onkyo & Klipsch, Reports 1Q/2025 Results; Sales & Profits Declined

Gentex Corporation (Nasdaq: GNTX), the new owner of Voxx, Premium Audio Company, Onkyo, Integra, and Klipsch reported the financial results for its first quarter of fiscal 2025 – the period that ended on March 31, 2025. Note that these results do not include the Voxx et. al. acquisition in its numbers, as that merger did not close until April 1, 2025. Gentex reported declines in sales, gross profit dollars, income from operations, and net income.

And all that happened before the new tariffs launched by the Trump administration took effect in full force.

Seeking to Replace the Loss of ProSource, Premium Audio Company Turns to NATM

Premium Audio Company (PAC), a subsidiary of Voxx International Corporation (Nasdaq: VOXX) and soon to be a subsidiary of Gentex Corp. (Nasdaq: GNTX), announced that it is entering into a “strategic partnership” with the National Alliance of Trade Merchants (NATM). PAC calls NATM “a leading national buying co-op of top independent retailers in the United States.” The move appears to be a pretty transparent effort to replace sales volume lost when major buying group ProSource dropped all PAC brands from its list of supported products.

On Wednesday, ProSource CEO Jim Pearse notified members of one of the industry’s largest dealer buying groups that Premium Audio Company – a subsidiary of Voxx International Corporation that oversees its audio brands Onkyo, Integra, and Klipsch – is being dropped from its assortment. This is big news and comes at a difficult time for Voxx which is in deep due diligence for its acquisition by Gentex Corp.

CES 25 – Premium Audio Co Launches New Onkyo Icon Series Amps & Preamp

Premium Audio Company (PAC), a division of Gentex Corp. that oversees the Onkyo, Integra, and Klipsch audio gear, has launched an interesting new series of electronics including an amplifier, preamplifier, and integrated amplifier at CES 2025 taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada this week. This new series is called the Onkyo Icon Series, a line of high-fidelity electronics that the company says is “a bold step forward in the brand’s evolution.”

Voxx Jettisons Jamo & Energy Brands as It Tries to Stop the Bleeding

Will Voxx International Itself Be Sold? It Says It’s Exploring *All* Options

Premium Audio Company (PAC), a division of Voxx International Corporation (Nasdaq: VOXX), announced today that Voxx has sold off both the Jamo and Energy brands as part of its plan to divest multiple brands in an effort to stave off its financial decline and revitalize its profits. The brands were sold to a Chinese manufacturing company and a Chinese distributor. Oddly, this announcement was retroactive, as the transaction was said to have taken place on August 15, 2024. No reason was given for why this announcement of the transaction was withheld until now.

Strata-gee has learned that the popular Integra AVR model DRX 3.4 is now available at NY retail & online dealer Adorama. While Adorama was previously selling Onkyo- and Pioneer-branded models, the addition of this Integra unit appears to be an entirely new development. Not only that, but the consumer deal website Slickdeals has a special deal on the DRX 3.4, with a 50% discount, via a link to purchase at Adorama.

Premium Audio Company, a division of VOXX International, this week announced two new Pioneer branded A/V receivers – the VSX-835 and the VSX-535 – that they say are feature-packed “Immersive Sound Audio Video Receivers.” Said to be targeted at home theater and gaming enthusiasts, these appear to be the first new Pioneer products for 2024.

Voxx Intl 1st Qtr Fiscal ’24 Results Hit Hard; Premium Audio Sales Drop -32%

VOXX International Corporation (Voxx) (Nasdaq: VOXX) reported its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024 and the numbers were not pretty. The first quarter is the period ending on May 31, 2023, and overall net sales n the quarter dropped by -13.1%, with a net loss increase of 65%. The hardest hit segment was the company’s Premium Audio Company division – home of brands like Onkyo, Pioneer, Integra, Elite, and more – which saw sales collapse by -32%.

Yet more evidence of an industrywide downturn emerges, this time from VOXX International’s Fiscal 2023 fourth quarter and full-year results. After claiming that “…we had a lot of positive developments and continued to win new business and expand globally,” Voxx President Pat Lavelle went on to blame “inflation,” “fears of recession,” “the retail environment,” and “supply chain constraints,” for creating “roadblocks” to the company’s performance this year. A couple of interesting announcements this week from Premium Audio Company (PAC), the Voxx Int’l subsidiary that markets the company’s premier audio brands such as Klipsch, Onkyo, Integra, Jamo, Pioneer, Elite, and more. First up, Rob Standley gets a big promotion to President of Technology and Product, a big step up. Second, and I would say counter-intuitively, the company says it’s lowering prices on many of its “most popular and best-selling audio solutions.”
