High-performance, affordable speaker manufacturer ELAC announced this week that it is launching its Debut 3.0 line of loudspeakers. The Debut 3.0, the company says, is the perfect blend of legendary ELAC sound performance in a style that is upgraded over some of its previous designs.

YG Acoustics Launches 3rd Gen of Reference Line at Munich High End

Denver-based YG Acoustics has announced it will debut the third generation of its Reference line of loudspeakers – called Reference 3 – at the upcoming Munich High End show, running from May 18 to May 21. The Munich event is one of the world’s preeminent high-end audio expositions. As such, it is the perfect venue for the company to launch its latest generation of Reference with many new technological innovations sure to be appreciated by the event’s audiophile attendees.

Canton Appoints Bluebird Music as Its Distributor for the US & Canada

Earlier this month Bluebird Music, an upstate New York-based distributor of fine, high-end audio products, announced that it has been appointed as the distributor of Canton loudspeakers for the United States and Canada. Canton, a well-respected speaker brand by audiophiles around the world, is said to be Germany’s largest seller of loudspeakers and a perfect addition to Bluebird Music’s assortment of the fine audio brands.

This week, National Public Radio (NPR) tells the story of the Minneapolis Speaker Company, Inc., known as MISCO, a St. Paul, MN-based manufacturer of speaker drivers and systems sold mostly on an OEM basis, who is struggling to continue to manufacture products here in the U.S. as they have for the last 70 years. What threatens their ability to continue to do so? In a word…tariffs.

End of an Era, Onkyo Halts Production of Loudspeakers in Japan
