Historic Hi-Fi brand Marantz has been gracing the homes of appreciative audiophiles for many, many years. Actually, for seven decades after its founding by Saul Marantz in 1953…for those of you who are counting. Sad news to report today as highly respected New York Metro manufacturer sales representative Ron Meyerowitz passed away earlier this week. Ronald “Ronnie” Meyerowitz was the founder of Audio Associates in the 1970s, one of the most successful audio/video manufacturer sales representative companies in the NY Metro area for decades.
At the end of July, CEDIA announced that it would be holding a new kind of event called the CEDIA Symposium on the day before the CEDIA Expo 2023 opens. The association is all-in on AI apparently, and this symposium is all about AI in custom integration. The announcement promises it will offer “an engaging afternoon of thought-provoking discussions led by industry visionaries, AI experts, top integrators, and manufacturers.”

The only way to truly know the performance of a screen is through a detailed and rigorous testing routine. High-end audio electronics and loudspeaker manufacturer Bryston announced this week the launch of an all-new preamplifier called the BP-19. Calling it an ultra-high-performance analog preamplifier, the company says it leverages years of R&D and design innovations from the development of its BR-20 preamplifier, a model that is said to have won multiple awards.

Last week, Snap One Holdings Corp. (Nasdaq: SNPO) released its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2023, the 13-week period ending June 30, 2023. The company reported mixed results with a continuing sales decline but with a reduced net loss in the quarter.
On Monday, Snap One revealed that it had filed a lawsuit against two other well-known, if smaller, brands, alleging patent infringement and a range of illicit and unethical business practices that it claims violated existing contractual agreements. The defendants in this matter are Josh.ai and AVA.
The allegations, if true, are really quite surprising.
