Azione Unlimited, a buying group of predominantly custom integration dealers that is part of the Nationwide Marketing Group family of dealer buying organizations, announced recently that it is adding Mike Cleary, Sonance Senior Director of Strategic Accounts, to its Board of Advisors. Unique to Azione, for years it has maintained an advisory board consisting of five dealer members and five vendor members to operate as its “strategic think tank.” The board’s role is to assist group management in fostering innovation, enhancing business success, and strengthening connections within the smart home industry.

Azione says that its advisory board “plays a pivotal role in shaping Azione Unlimited’s initiatives and ensuring its vision aligns with the evolving needs of its members and the market.” Most groups have a board of directors that consists almost exclusively of dealer members of the group. When Richard Glikes, the founder and former owner of Azione Unlimited decided to establish an advisory board, he believed the engagement of members of the group’s vendors was a critical component.
Cleary has a long and rich career in custom integration, including more than a decade as a key member of the management team at Sonance. Prior to Sonance, he held roles working in the field as a member of leading custom integration representative firms. This career has given him hands on experience helping integrators succeed in their businesses.

The organization says that Cleary’s appointment is effective immediately and notes that he’s the fifteenth vendor member to serve on the advisory board since its inception. Cleary is moving into the seat recently vacated by Gretchen Gilbertson, CEO & Co-founder of Séura. Gilbertson, Azione says, had devoted an impressive seven years of her time to the board. The group noted that it, “extends its deepest gratitude for Gilbertson’s time, commitment, and invaluable contributions…”
