GE Appliances and Savant Systems announced today that they are partnering in the launching of an innovative new home energy solution they call the EcoBalance System. The goal of this system is to offer the residential market a “whole-home, connected solution” that delivers the ability for consumers to take full control of energy delivery and utilization in their homes for unparalleled energy efficiency and management.

Certainly, one element of all of our lives that has great significance is energy use and the global impact of energy generation and delivery. The HVAC systems in our homes allow us to live comfortably in changing weather conditions – especially in those parts of the country with four seasons. Spending on energy utilities can be a significant part of the home budget, not to mention that science has noted that the global environment is changing in ways that could further stress our energy utilization.
Now, GE Appliances, a Haier company; GE Lighting, a Savant Company; and Savant Systems Inc., a smart home and smart power company, have come together to provide homeowners with a dramatically enhanced ability to both generate, manage, and conserve energy within their homes to better balance cost with comfort…utilization with supply. And to perhaps make a positive contribution to address human activity-impacted global climate change.
A ‘First-of-Its-Kind’ System
The announcement of this program calls the GE Appliances EcoBalance System a “first-of-its-kind system” that combines energy-efficient appliances, smart home products, and energy demand management with solar panels, energy storage solutions, and electric vehicle chargers to help reduce strain on electrical grids, cut energy costs for homeowners, and lower carbon emissions. And to offer a system that accomplishes all of this without sacrificing performance or style.
To bend the curve to a brighter energy future, both GE Appliances and Savant have created teams of experts to work with builders on creating “an integrated package of trusted, reliable, innovative, and energy efficient smart products from GE Appliances and Savant” that all work seamlessly together to help homeowners reach their lower carbon emissions or even net zero energy goals.

Specific Products That Can Be Included
The partners also revealed more details on just specifically what types of products will be a part of this initiative. These products include “energy-efficient refrigerators, dishwashers, cooking devices, heat pump washer/dryer combo unit, heat pump HVAC system, and heat pump water heaters combined with Savant load management, inverters, batteries and electric vehicle chargers that will work seamlessly with solar panels and generators.” And of course, nearly the entire line of Savant smart home and lighting solutions can be included as part of a optimized smart ecosystem “bringing energy independence to any home.”
