Long-time leading loudspeaker brand M&K Sound has selected Audio Collective Group as its exclusive U.S. distributor. The appointment is said to be effective immediately.
Learn more about Audio Collective Group and M&K Sound
So, who is the Audio Collective Group? Audio Collective Group (ACG) grew out of Austin, Texas-based Warm Audio, a manufacturer of various microphones, mic preamps, compressors, guitar pedals, and other pro audio performance and recording gear in the MI space. Founded by Bryce Young, the distributor says it has one mission: to empower the people who make music.
This is an interesting choice of distributor by M&K Sound. At the moment, Audio Collective Group distributes eight brands, all of which are recording studio or music industry-related products, including studio processing gear, equipment carts to move gear, a manufacturer of recording studio furniture, a Swiss cable manufacturer, a guitar manufacturer, and a pop filter manufacturer, and more. About the only brand offering gear for residential use is M&K Sound.
A Choice that Resonates with M&K Sound
However, the profile of Audio Collective Group probably resonates with M&K Sound, which, in addition to home theater speakers, also offers pro & commercial speaker models for studio use. As the announcement of this appointment notes, “Since 1974, M&K Sound has helped define cinematic home theater, with loudspeakers trusted in professional film mixing stages and by enthusiasts seeking the same accuracy and impact used in Hollywood productions.”

I don’t recall any integrators mentioning this distributor as a supplier, so perhaps the addition of M&K Sound represents Audio Collective Group’s expansion into a new market…the residential space. In any event, M&K offers a broad line of well-respected speakers suitable for a wide range of residential theater installations, including the THX Certified Dominus in-wall loudspeaker “for very large home cinemas”, complete 5.1 surround and Dolby Atmos systems, and high-performance subwoofers. Not to mention studio monitors for film and music production in both commercial and home studios.
Timbre-Matched Speaker Lines Offers Integrators More Flexibility
The company’s announcement points out that a key element of the M&K DNA is timbre-matched speaker architecture, which allows integrators the ability to mix and match speakers across various product series to optimize for a specific space, while retaining a consistent sonic signature.
We’ve seen incredible demand for M&K Sound from installers and home theater professionals across the U.S. M&K has earned its reputation as one of the premier names in cinematic sound. Our role is to ensure that installers & customers have the availability, logistics support, and customer service they need to implement these incredible systems into more home theaters & commercial studios across the country.
