The amount of activity coming out of the Nationwide Marketing Group is pretty mind-blowing with a lot of moving pieces as its multiple operating divisions are each executing on its part of the overall organization’s “Drive to 1,000” member growth program. Today, Nationwide announced that its newest venture, the Ellipsys Commercial Technology Group, has added two more “founding vendor partners,” both well-known and highly valued brands within the commercial community.

Earlier this month, I told you that Nationwide’s Oasys Residential Technology Group, the former HTSN, in just nine short months has doubled its custom integration member count. This is a resounding proof of concept and validates that the buying group’s strategy is resonating with a new class of integrators, most of whom have not been in any other buying group.

Then, only days after that, another Nationwide group – Azione Unlimited – announced an innovative new educational program that embodies a multi-faceted approach to meet the learning needs of multiple levels of employees and management of its member companies. The program is also designed to allow each student to choose the style of instruction that best works for them.

Biamp and Legrand AV Join as ‘Founding Vendor Partners’

Now we learn that the newest member of the Nationwide family, Ellipsys Commercial Technology Group, has added two more well-respected vendor partners – quickly bolstering its assortment of class-leading commercial products. These new “founding vendor partners” are Biamp and Legrand AV. They join the previously announced Sonance – which sounds like a pretty strong foundational assortment of major brands.

The news represents a dramatic ramp-up in the young group’s assortment and is stunning in the speed with which the commercial community has rushed to embrace a totally new and unproven buying group. This reality is a testament to the reputation of Nationwide…and to the Ellipsys’ executive director, Chris Whitley – a 25-year veteran in the commercial technology industry.

‘A Significant Milestone’

In these first few months, we’ve been keenly focused on creating a compelling offering for current and future Ellipsys members. These partnerships with Biamp and Legrand mark a significant milestone for the group. They reinforce our commitment to staying at the forefront of the commercial integration industry and providing our members with the best-in-class partners. Together, we look forward to working through the challenges for commercial integration in the coming year and unlocking newfound levels of success for Ellipsys members.

The group’s announcement says that Biamp is an industry leader in the commercial segment with a “broad offering of solution applications.” The company is said to be known for its meeting and conference room AV technology, control systems, installed sound, and sound masking products. Biamp spans several commercial sub-segments, including corporate, government, healthcare, hospitality, higher education, and leisure segments. This broad scope of business makes Biamp meangful to just about every Ellipsys member.

Expanding Vendor Roster Bring Much to Ellipsys Members

Legrand AV, as many Strata-gee readers likely know, brings a whole portfolio of meaningful brands to the channel…and now to Ellipsys members. Brands such as Chief, Da-Lite, Luxul, Cables to Go, Middle Atlantic, and Vaddio have made a tremendous contribution to many integrators’ business. Ellipsys also notes Legrand AV’s tremendous commitment to channel support initiatives, such as training sessions and dealer education, among others.

Legrand looks forward to the partnership with Ellipsys. Chris Whitley’s vision for Ellipsys promoting deep engagement with its members aligns well with our goals and initiatives; we look forward to growing together.

Group Anticipates Further Expansion; Plans First Member Conference

Ellipsys says it is continuing to speak with a variety of potential new vendors and intends to continue to add those best-in-class partners who make the most sense to its members. The group is also busy planning its first ever educational and networking conference for members and participating vendors.
