See Onkyo at CES 2026, VOXX Booth #17204
I have to say that the team at Premium Audio Company (PAC), part of the VOXX division of Gentex Corp., does a nice job of paying homage to the long, 80-year history of technical innovation and market success of its Onkyo brand, while at the same time, launching innovative new models to propel the brand into a space-age future. While conventional wisdom might suggest otherwise, you could say that they prove that they can walk and chew gum at the same time.

In a press release reviewing the 80 years of Onkyo innovation, PAC celebrates the brand’s engineering excellence, innovation, and “a passion for elevating the human experience through sound.” That statement pretty succinctly sums up the former company’s ethos.
Now, at CES 2026, PAC executives offer what they call “a snapshot of the New Onkyo.” And what is the “New Onkyo?” The company says that at this show, the brand will have a “rebirth of an iconic and legendary brand advancing its next-generation products.” These new products are said to honor Onkyo’s rich heritage, “while confidently charting the path forward.”
Redefining the Onkyo Identity and Product Strategy
The company’s statement goes on to note that in latter years, Onkyo became primarily associated with A/V receivers. But today, PAC says, “the company’s ambitions now reach far beyond its iconic category.” Going forward, the company is “redefining its identity and product strategy to meet the expectations of both everyday listeners and high-end audio enthusiasts.”
At CES 2026, taking place now in Las Vegas, NV, January 6-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, attendees will get their opportunity in the VOXX Booth #17204 (Central Hall) to go hands-on to see and touch all-new models designed to illuminate the new path that Onkyo is taking. PAC says it will build upon the solid bedrock of Onkyo’s historic product quality and craftsmanship, adding in new future-ready technologies, seamless connectivity, and a modern, sleek design.

Unveiling Several New Products at CES 2026, Such as Limited Editions & Bold New Concepts
PAC is also promising limited anniversary edition products, “bold new concepts,” global marketing initiatives, technology partnerships, “and more.”
Onkyo’s 80th anniversary is not just a milestone—it’s a declaration of our future. We celebrate the craftsmanship and passion that shaped our first eight decades while laying a bold foundation for the next generation of listeners. Our goal is simple: to create sound experiences people don’t just hear—they feel, love, and remember.

New Onkyo Muse Series to be Revealed at CES 2026
Premium Audio Company is launching two new Onkyo Muse network streamer models, the Y-50 and Y-40. The Muse series is a line of compact, high-powered, all-in-one 2-channel Network Integrated Amplifiers. Optimized for the way many choose to listen to music – via streaming, that is – the company says that the Muse series is meant to serve as the hub of a modern entertainment system.

Common to both models is a Full Digital Circuit topology, premium Axign Class D amplifiers that utilize high-current MOSFET transistors delivering a more powerful and dynamic sonic experience. Also included in the pair is a 5.46-inch color LCD display for showing song metadata, or an analog-style VU meter, and simplified browsing of streaming services. Also included is a newly-designed Volume Knob, heat-dissipation vents shaped in a special “San Kuzushi” pattern, and premium construction used throughout.
Onkyo Muse Series Y-50 Network Integrated Amplifier
Including all the features discussed above, the Y-50 offers 250 watts per channel (4Ω) of clean, powerful, room-shaking power. Onkyo Room EQ is on board, offering precise room calibration to optimize the sound in any environment.
Connectivity options help ensure users can build just about any configuration of products into a simple and effective entertainment system. There are three sets of analog RCA inputs, a COAX input, a phono stage input (MM/MC compatible), and HDMI/HDMI ARC input with HDMI output for video and gaming audio. The Y-50 also supports Ethernet and Wi-Fi for high-quality streaming playback…and includes a subwoofer pre-out and upgraded speaker terminals.

End-users can seamlessly stream from Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qubuz Connect, Chromecast, and AirPlay 2. They can also easily control it all through the Onkyo Controller app, as well as customize their listening experience
The Onkyo Muse Y-50 is priced with an MSRP of $1,499 and will become available in May 2026. It will be available in both a black and silver finish.
Onkyo Muse Series Y-40 Network Integrated Amplifier
Sharing all the same construction quality and many of the same features, it seems rude to call the Y-40 the baby brother of the Y-50. However, it’s rated to offer a robust, if lower, 150 watts per channel (4Ω) of the same quality power as big brother.
The Y-40 is also a capable connector, offering three sets of analog RCA inputs, a COAX input, a phono input, and an HDMI ARC input for video and gaming sound. This model also supports Ethernet and Wi-Fi to ensure superior streaming performance.
The Onkyo Muse Y-40 will be available in May 2026 in both black and silver finishes and is priced with an MSRP of $999.

LIMITED EDITION 80TH ANNIVERSARY MUSE SERIES NETWORK STREAMER & INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER – As part the company’s 80th anniversary celebration, it has created this special Muse Series model that it calls “collector grade.” Said to be inspired by the popular Onkyo M-588 stereo power amplifier, this special model features an impactful industrial design with a champagne-gold aluminum chassis and finished off with real-wood walnut veneer side panels.

The company plans to release this special model in the Summer of 2026.
New Creator Series Models
LIMITED EDITION 80TH ANNIVERSARY CREATOR SERIES GX-30 & GX-10 POWERED SPEAKERS – Onko has decided to expand its recently introduced Creator Series to include these special 80th Anniversary models. Sporting a PVC walnut cabinetry with silver trim rings, these models exude a classic furniture-like impression. They also feature a textured black baffle and all-black speaker stands for a bold professional look. These special 80th Anniversary Creator Series models are expected to launch in Summer 2026.
ALL NEW CREATOR SERIES TABLETOP SPEAKER CONCEPTS – Premium Audio Company will also be showing a new Onkyo Creator Series model (a new edition, but not a special Anniversary edition) that takes that series beyond traditional powered speakers. Featuring an interesting, all-in-one design, this new tabletop speaker model includes an “iconic” central volume knob for tactile, intuitive control. Calling this tabletop model “a new category” for the brand, the company says it delivers “expansive, confident sound that defines the Creator Series.” It is also expected to be available in the Summer of 2026.
A New Industrial Design Direction for Next-Gen Onkyo Electronics
NEXT-GENERATION HOME THEATER CONCEPTS – Onkyo will also be showing a new series of home theater electronics with an all-new industrial design. The company calls this series, which includes an A/V Receiver, a Preamp/Processor, and a Power Amplifier, “conceptual components” and really didn’t provide much in the way of details on them. PAC says they are engineered for “monstrous multi-channel and multi-room performance,” including supporting up to 15-channel processing with 11-channel power “in the ‘proposed’ architecture.”

The company additionally says that this new series will include cutting-edge technology integrations, including THX Certified Dominus, Dirac ART Available, and Auracast. They add that this series will “position Onkyo at the forefront of the next era in home theater.”
On the show floor at CES, as you can see in the photo above, the company showed non-working mockups of the new industrial design, which is quite a departure from past designs. It includes a large multi-color display flanked by both a large volume control on one side and source selection and other functions on the other. It is a nice, clean-looking panel, but keep in mind that it’s just a mockup.
However, you will need to be patient…they won’t arrive until sometime in 2027.
