CEDIA, the trade group with the new tagline The Association for Smart Home Professionals, has announced that it has selected Chip Wade, a TV personality from certain Home and Garden Television (HGTV) shows, as the keynote presenter for CEDIA Expo 2025, taking place in two weeks in Denver, CO, from September 3-6. Wade’s presentation is titled Beyond the Blueprint: Where Innovation Meets Intention.
Learn more about the CEDIA Expo keynote presentation…
Recently, an industry colleague reached out to me and asked if I had heard who the keynote presenter was at Expo 2025. I told him I hadn’t. He said, “It’s Chip Wade.” I said, “Who?” He said, “Exactly.” The association’s choice was not an immediately obvious one to me. However, I’m open-minded and the association is pretty hyped about Wade.
According to CEDIA, Wade is an “Emmy-winning television host and producer, Georgia Tech engineer, HGTV designer, and third-generation craftsman.” A profile on HGTV says Wade is a contractor and master carpenter on its show Curb Appeal: The Block. He is said to have come from a long line of wood craftsmen. Wade holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech and went on to earn his certification in residential construction. According to HGTV, Wade’s interests include carpentry, landscaping, and renovation.
How to Create Purposeful Spaces That Drive Success
CEDIA says that Wade’s presentation will take place on Thursday morning, September 4th, at 8:00 am in the Mile High Ballroom 2. In this presentation, he will “…explore how to create purposeful spaces that drive success for builders, designers, and integrators, balance trends with timeless design, and foster collaboration for greater impact.” They say that Wade will draw upon his extensive experience for “real-world insight and examples, he’ll share strategies to blend aesthetics, functionality, and innovation, while underscoring the importance of adaptability, teamwork, and meaningful decision-making.”
There is something really special that can happen when the right mix of skill, professionalism and work ethic mix with a real passion for doing something exciting and worthwhile in a build project. This is the exact intersection where I try to park myself on all my projects.
