CE Exchange Integrator Event Postponed

March 20, 2013 by Ted 2 Comments

BREAKING NEWS

ceExchange LogoWe learned today that the upcoming CE Exchange event scheduled to be held at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, CT May 6-8, 2013 will be formally postponed today by its promoters EH Events and CEPro. The event, a more intimate and interactive alternative to typical industry trade shows, took a completely new and fresh approach by making the show regional with education, training, market data, etc. becoming more meaningful as it’s tailored for the local area.

See more on this surprising decision…

The CE Exchange event was so fresh and new that, in effect, this factor became one of the promoters’ key challenges, company insiders told us. While traditional trade shows are national in scope and largely financed by selling display space to exhibitors who show their wares to dealers – CE Exchange sought to be more meaningful, or as their website says, their goal is to “help you [integrators] make better business decisions.”

Promoters had expected around 750 integrators to attend and had planned more of a business conference-style event with seminars and general group sessions – as opposed to a typical trade show, exhibit-style generic event. The idea was to have regionally-centric statistics, data, licensing requirements, etc. to allow seminars to present highly valuable information with a laser-sharp target on the geographic area that attendees do business in.

Initial registrations had been encouraging…

According to our sources, integrator registrations had been encouraging for the event…but borderline. Making the numbers work for this style of event required strong participation from all participants…including strong sponsor support.

It is likely that the newness of this format made it difficult to get all of the numbers to work. By postponing the event, the promoters give themselves more breathing room to re-approach all parties and ensure a successful event.

Postponed to later in 2013…

We have been told that EH Events and CEPro plan to reschedule the CE Exchange to a date that, while not yet set, will most likely take place later in 2013. For now, our sources indicate that the event will stay targeted at the same market.
