SnapAV announced today that it will acquire network service agency Access Networks in a deal expected to close later this month. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company says this acquisition “will broaden SnapAV’s networking portfolio with newer products and managed services including system design, configuration, monitoring, and support.”

Founded in 2003 by Hagai Feiner, Access Networks emerged as a networking systems specialist at a time when the custom integration industry was just coming to grips with the reality of the importance of a reliable network to overall system performance. Up to then, most residential solutions worked outside the network, or sometimes with consumer grade solutions. But as more and more products launched supporting IP, the network took on new and added significance.

Many integrators turned to knowledgeable companies like Access Networks for their higher level knowledge of both higher quality, properly curated networking devices solutions – and for their deeper knowledge of more sophisticated configurations and solutions. By combining their specialized networking knowledge with their distribution of higher grade networking gear, Access Networks grew along with the industry.

A Focus on Networking

SnapAV has long included networking gear in their expansive product portfolio, principally through their Araknis and OvrC solutions. Then when the company acquired Control4, along with the control solutions provider they also received Pakedge networking gear which Control4 had previously acquired. This made SnapAV one of the industry’s major suppliers of networking hardware.

Adding Access Networks to the SnapAV portfolio enables our Partners to tackle any size commercial or residential network project. More SnapAV Partners can now do more complex networking jobs with greater confidence, knowing that they are supported by Access Networks. Their industry-leading team of professionals bring comprehensive experience and high-performance hardware solutions to the SnapAV networking product portfolio.”

Adding Design and Deployment Capabilities

With Access Networks, they not only broaden their product portfolio, but they add a new roster of services and capabilities. The company itself notes that by onboarding Access Networks design and deployment services under the SnapAV umbrella, their dealers and integrators will be able to “deliver rapid proposals to satisfy even the most demanding clients nd projects” whether high-end residential or commercial solutions.

SnapAV says that Access Networks products will become available through its e-commerce site and network of Local Pro Stores “in the coming months.” Until then, SnapAV invites their dealers to go directly to Access Networks website at www.accessnetworks.com.
