In an announcement seen on LinkedIn, Perlisten Audio announced that it has appointed Walt Zerbe as its new Director of Global Business. Prior to joining Perlisten, Zerbe was with the CEDIA trade association as its Senior Director of Technology and Standards.

This news emerged as a bit of a surprise as, until very recently, Zerbe had a public and generally well-regarded role at CEDIA as both its Senior Director of Technology and Standards…and as the popular host of the organization’s podcast, aptly titled The CEDIA Podcast. I believe the announcement I saw from Perlisten was distributed on LinkedIn on Monday.
The announcement by Perlisten hails the appointment of Zerbe saying, “With an extensive background in the audio industry and a deep understanding of market trends, Zerbe brings a wealth of expertise that will be instrumental in shaping the company’s future.”

Zerbe has had an extensive industry career, working for some of the top companies and brands in consumer and professional industry segments. In addition to this, he has been very committed to contributing to professional trade associations such as CEDIA, as I mentioned above, as well as the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), where he was chair of the CTA Audio Division Board and Chair of the CTA Technology and Standards Council.
Previous Roles at Legrand, Russound, and Integration Companies
Prior to his stint at CEDIA, Zerbe was with Legrand as its Audio Product Manager for its Nuvo and OnQ brands. He was at Legrand for seven years. Before Legrand, he spent five years as Product Manager for Russound in Newmarket, NH. In the late 1990s, Zerbe founded and was president of Comprehensive Electronic Systems, an integration company focused on mid- to high-end residential installations, as well as light commercial building installations.
