ProSource Partners with SnapAV on Select Brands

January 18, 2018 by Ted Leave a Comment

SnapAV logoProSource, a large industry dealer buying group, announced this morning that they are partnering with SnapAV, a diversified manufacturer/distributor of a wide group of diverse brands, to offer programs on several of their brands to group members. According to the ProSource management, members will be offered access to SnapAV’s Araknis, Luma, OvrC, Visualint, and WattBox brands.

ProSource’s announcement notes that these SnapAV brands will expand the group’s roster of surveillance and systems monitoring solutions – categories that each of which “represents unprecedented growth for the industry and the ProSource group.” The group plans to offer extensive information on these lines at its upcoming ProSource Summit in March.

“All of these brands are best-in-class assets that put our members out front in a competitive marketplace,” said Dave Workman, CEO and President of ProSource in a prepared statement. “Systems monitoring and surveillance are projected to be two of our highest growth categories in 2018.”

It bears noting that the concept of a major buying group partnering with SnapAV is a bit of an unusal development. SnapAV’s status as both a manufacturer and a distributor can make it a competitor to other brands. This can lead groups who have large developed line lists, already partnered with a large group of manufacturers, to have to carefully weigh the impact of the addition of SnapAV on other manufacturing relationships.

Savant

“By structuring a program around our remotely managed suite of products and surveillance solutions, ProSource dealers are given an accelerated path to growth in these key categories, as well as opportunities for service revenue and increased operational efficiency,” said Jeff Hindman, Executive VP of Sales for SnapAV in the same prepared statement. “This program represents our continued investment in making dealers’ lives easier and their businesses more profitable through intuitive, seamless connected product solutions.”
