We’re thrilled to have Rob join our growing team. Rob has several decades of experience with many top manufacturers in the custom electronics industry, making him a great fit for this new role. There’s a growing demand from manufacturers and suppliers to build value-added services, to go beyond the sale of the product and be a better partner for their dealers. Manufacturers now recognize Portal as a key operational tool for a growing percentage of their dealers. We’re happy that they’ll now have Rob as their full-time resource, helping them understand and leverage Portal’s technology.

What Role Does Portal’s Vendor Services Team Play?

So just what does Portal’s Vendor Services team do specifically? They are charged with helping manufacturers and suppliers optimize their brand’s representation in Portal’s industry catalog, really the core of the software for dealers. In addition to this, Portal facilitates better dealer communication by syndicating important program and product messaging inside the software.

The company says that Portal helps brands attain critical market visibility and even offers them demand prediction. In today’s world, better demand prediction can really help suppliers better massage their supply channels to offer their dealers a more reliable supply of products.

I’ve been following Portal since they started almost ten years ago. I’ve always been impressed with their ability to think outside the box and create really slick sollutions for dealers. Their team is fantastic and I’m thrilled to be able to join them. As a manufacturer, I was always looking for better ways to communicate with my dealers, create more accurate forecasts and understand the market more than just looking backwards at my sales. Portal has solved so much of this and I’m looking forward to being the one who shares it with the industy.
